Our Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course concludes on April 9th 2016 at ESTC. Accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons (England) the course comprises two days of intensive tuition and practicals designed to give the delegates an understanding of trauma care and critical thinking. Skill station scenarios include extrication of casualties from Road Traffic Accidents, assessment and treatment of a trapped driver in our HGV simulator, airway management, fall from height, building collapse and several other key areas in the pre-hospital arena training arena. The image below is from our blast trauma scenario in which, following a gas explosion, the fire service extricate blast trauma casualties from a house. The casualties are then assessed and treated by first responder doctors and paramedics, assisted by the fire service.
