Recently the BBC followed a team of police firearms officers through their initial training process. Part of the training was conducted at The Emergency Services Training Centre, Birkenhead. The students had to demonstrate their ability to operate under arduous conditions, show an ability to deliver not only the tactical procedures they had learnt during training but also the ability to preserve life after ballistic force had been delivered.
